Konami has announced that the YuGiOh Original Card Game (OCG) Series will be getting an English release, alongside a wave of new products to go along with it.
The English release of the YuGiOh OCG will be marked with the release of two new structure decks based on iconic monsters from the anime: Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Dark Magician.
These structure decks, titled Illusion of the Dark Magicians and Rise of the Blue-Eyes are available now at all participating card stores, alongside two more booster sets to release in the coming weeks.
The first of these packs is the Creator Pack, which includes additional cards for customizing your deck like Stardust Dragon and Junk Synchron, launching on November 25th.
Additionally, the Duelist Nexus expansion will also be launching in English on December 16th, which includes cards like Thestalos The Shadowfire Monarch, Mighty Dino King Rex, as well as Cosmic Quasar Dragon.
For those out of the loop, the YuGiOh Card game is actually two separate games- the Trading Card Game released in the west, as well as the Original Card game which was released in Asian countries like Japan and Korea.
While the cards themselves may be structurally similar, the rules around them are made independently of each other- with OCG and TCG infamously sporting different banlists.
The exception is made for events like the 2023 YuGiOh World Championship, which used a hybrid banlist from both formats as well as Master Duel, which also has its own separate banlist.
The release of the YuGiOh OCG in English is a big boon to regions like SouthEast Asia, allowing more players to get into the hobby thanks to English being the Lingua Franca of the region.
