Via an official press release, Japan-based publisher Konami announced that YuGiOh Master Duel has hit the 20 million download mark. First making its debut on 19 January 2022, this free-to-play digital collectible card game is available on the likes of the PC, Sony PlayStation 5, Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox Series, Microsoft Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. A week later on 27 January 2022, YuGiOh Master Duel was subsequently launched for the Android and iOS platforms.
To commemorate the occasion, Konami will be giving out a total of 1,000 gems to all players who log-in to the game between now and 25 April 2022, a move similar to the previous giveaway when it hit 10 million downloads. There is also now the inclusion of a new update, where the Solo Mode has gotten a new story titled “The Fairies Who Paint the Weather,” accompanied by a description which goes:
The Fairies Who Paint the Weather. The weather patterns they weave become Continuous Spell and Trap cards, which bless the Field and the Fairies themselves with amazing Effects.
Uncover the secrets to wielding the powers of the ever-changing weather!
To recap, YuGiOh Master Duel is a near 1:1 port of the YuGiOh TCG, letting you build the deck of your dreams to compete against other duelists around the world. It features cross-saves on top of its cross-play, so you can carry your progress with you across multiple platforms.
