YuGiOh Master Duel will finally be getting the much-requested Casual matchmaking mode, letting you duel strangers without impacting your rank.
According to Konami, ,the Casual Mode update for YuGiOh Master Duel will be available in “early August”, meaning it’ll likely be part of the next patch.
The same update will apparently also bring tweaks to how Daily Missions work, though they haven’t gone into any further detail.
They haven’t gone into much detail about how it’ll work, though the main selling point is that you’ll be able to duel without taking hits to your rank.
Presumably, this feature will exist alongside the current Duel Rooms, which also let you have casual games but are much harder to matchmake for.
Cautious Optimism For Casual Mode
Considering they haven’t described what the matchmaking system will be like for this mode, it’s not certain that fans might find themselves having an easier time- a free-for-all matchmaking might mean you could get paired up with the same killers that were dominating the ranked ladders or events.
There’s also the question of the game’s battle pass- the population of a casual queue will also be highly dependent on whether or not you can grind the game’s Duel Pass.
Still, the addition of a mode for you to try new decks and find new opponents is a net positive for the community, particularly those who already got all the benefits for reaching Diamond and want to unwind with casual games.
