YuGiOh Cross Duel, another major YuGiOh mobile game to be released has seemingly launched a teaser website out of the blue, complete with a promo video for the 4-way card game.
While the teaser didn’t show any new gameplay, it did confirm that YuGiOh Cross Duel would feature cards from all the recent anime, up to YuGiOh SEVENS, due to the appearance of the ace monster from that series, Seven Roads Magician.
Unlike Master Duel, the website appears to confirm that the game will not be launching on PC, at least initially due to only mentioning iOS and Android in its supported platforms.
UPDATE: The game has soft launched in The Netherlands, Canada and Hong Kong, and is available via their respective app stores.
No release date was attached to the website either, so we’ll have to standby for more information for Konami when they’re ready to discuss it.
YuGiOh Cross Duel isn’t exactly an adaptation of the card game similar to Master Duel, instead being more adapted to lane-based combat to facilitate its 4-way plays.
While it still follows traditional YuGiOh rules such as having phase-based gameplay, they’ve all been adjusted to more suit the game’s faster gameplay, such as players taking simultaneous turns and monsters moving along pre-made lanes and only attacking enemies on the same lane.
It also has features like skills for monsters, which don’t necessarily follow their TCG counterparts, rather fitting more casual mobile gameplay a la games like Teppen.
