Opening a Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG booster box remains an exciting experience for collectors and players alike. Today’s unboxing spotlights two distinct releases: Selection 5 and Rage of the Abyss, each offering unique additions to the game.

Selection 5 presents itself as a specialized booster focused on five beloved archetypes: Train, Invoked, Sky Striker, Dragonmaid, and Live☆Twin/Evil★Twin. Each box contains 15 packs with 4 cards per pack, guaranteeing at least one Super Rare or higher rarity card. The set’s 100-card lineup showcases full archetype reprints alongside fresh alternate artworks – two for each theme. Adding depth to the collection are five new Spell/Trap Cards featuring artwork that explores each archetype’s world.
The rarity distribution in Selection 5 maintains excellent variety. The set features 10 Normal Parallel Rares (also available as Ultra Rares) and 90 Commons. For collectors seeking premium versions, original artwork cards can be found in Ultimate Rare and Secret Rare variants, while the new alternate arts shine in Prismatic Secret Rare. Common cards also receive Super Rare and Secret Rare treatments.

Rage of the Abyss, as the sixth Core Booster of Series 12, delivers substantial content across multiple formats. Japanese and Korean releases pack 30 boosters per box, each containing 5 cards. The 81-card set spans an impressive rarity range: 1 Quarter Century Secret Rare, 9 Ultra Rares, 11 Super Rares, 19 Rares, and 41 Commons. Ultra Rares receive additional Ultimate Rare versions, while both Ultra and Super Rares appear in Secret Rare and Quarter Century Secret Rare variants.

The Asian-English and Simplified Chinese editions expand the card pool to 121 cards, adjusting the rarity distribution to 1 Quarter Century Secret Rare, 15 Ultra Rares, 18 Super Rares, 25 Rares, and 62 Commons. These versions maintain similar rarity upgrades, with one Ultra Rare card receiving a special Holographic Rare treatment.
First-print boxes of Rage of the Abyss include bonus packs, with Asian-English and Simplified Chinese versions offering additional Awakened by the Primites Bonus Packs for bulk purchases. The set introduces support for numerous archetypes, from classic favorites like Blue-Eyes and Red-Eyes to newer additions such as Azamina and Primite. Notable debut support appears for Metalmorph, Morganite, Shark, Shark Drake, and Six Strike archetypes.

Through these releases, Yu-Gi-Oh! continues expanding its rich card pool while catering to both collectors and competitive players with varied rarity options and strategic additions to beloved archetypes.

Konami has also launched two preconstructed Duel-Ignition Decks in the Asian-English market: Swordsoul and HERO. Each deck contains 50 cards, structured identically with one Ultra Rare card and 49 Commons, offering ready-to-play experiences for both new and returning players. Through these releases, Yu-Gi-Oh! continues expanding its rich card pool while catering to collectors, casual, and competitive players with varied rarity options and strategic additions to beloved archetypes.
