Konami has announced the release window for Yu Gi Oh Master Duel, the cross platform multiplayer game based on the Yu Gi Oh TCG and OCG.
At TGS today, they announced that Yu Gi Oh Master Duel would release on all platforms this Winter, but declined to go into more specifics.
They also showed off the new solo mode, which lets you try out a story mode that’s never been made into a Yu Gi Oh game.
Rather than play the plot of the anime a la Legacy of the Duelist, Master Duel’s Solo Mode lets you play out the stories of the game’s various archetypes- which they showed using the Qliphort archetype in the game.
These let you use a deck built around the selected archetype, such as the Qliphort deck having a deck built around getting Apoqliphort Killer (released in EN as Apoqliphort Towers) out.
Sadly, there’s still a lot that hasn’t been announced in the game, such as the big questions regarding its monetization- We’ve known beforehand that some cards will be locked behind events, but we still don’t know if there’ll be any way to purchase single cards or if they’ll be locked behind a gacha system.
