Konami announced that two of the Game Boy era Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters games will be coming to the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
As part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters: The Legend of Duelists QUARTER CENTURY 25th anniversary event, it was revealed that Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 4: Battle of Great Duelists and Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 6: Expert 2 will be released on the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
Both games will be part of a collection titled “Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Day Collection”, as loosely translated from its Japanese title.
As of writing, there is no announcement of the collection’s release date and if the games will be released in English localization yet.
Originally came out in 2000 and 2001 respectively, both Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 4: Battle of Great Duelists and Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 6: Expert 2 was launched exclusively in Japan and was never released outside of the country.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 4: Battle of Great Duelists was also released in three different versions, each based on a deck of the main characters Yugi, Joey, and Kaiba, but Konami has not revealed if all three versions will be available together.
Meanwhile, a modified version of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 6: Expert 2 was released in 2003 in both Japanese and English as Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters International – Worldwide Edition.
However, it is still unknown if changes to the Worldwide Edition will be brought to the new release.
The Yu-Gi-Oh! card game is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary at Tokyo Dome and to commemorate the franchise, Konami reveals an animation short showcasing various monster cards in action produced by its newly formed animation division.
