A Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS VR version codenamed “Solid Vision Experiment” has been unveiled during the live broadcast that celebrates the 25th anniversary of the card game.
As part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters: The Legend of Duelists QUARTER CENTURY 25th anniversary event, the development team behind DUEL LINKS took the stage to unveil and showcase a VR version of the game.
During the showcase, the host was shown wearing a VR headset and interacting with various objects in the game, including standing behind monsters as duelists and commanding them.
Through the use of VR, fans of the card game can finally immerse into the duel much like in the anime where duelists could summon monsters as though they are real.
Currently, there is no official release date for the VR version of Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS announced yet, but it is confirmed that it will be coming to Meta Quest 3.
Aside from a VR version announcement, Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS is also currently having “The Bond of Duelists” event to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the original card game.
This event will see players spread their “Friendships” and “Friendship Chains” to other players around the world to participate in Friendship Duels.
As mentioned, The Bond of Duelists event is now underway in DUEL LINKS until February 18, 2024.
In addition to the Solid Vision Experiment VR, the 25th anniversary event also announced various exciting news for the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, including Game Boy era games coming to Nintendo Switch and PC, advanced AI learning in MASTER DUEL, and in-house animation studio KONAMI Animations alongside an exciting demo reel that celebrates the monster cards.
