Previews of the battle system used in the Ys VI Online: The Ark of Napishtim limited time trial have been released. Today’s also the last day of the trial’s availability, with no known release date of the title yet. At first glance, the game looks pretty much similar to other mobile RPGs, with buttons on both the left and right of the screen, with the left having the virtual joystick, and the right being your skills.
You can equip up to four job skills, which can be both active or passive skills. You’ll get more skills as you level up as you work through the skill trees for your jobs. Levelling up will give you skill points to use in those skill trees, which will be different according to your profession.
For those who have tried the limited trial, you can take a questionnaire to obtain rewards when the game officially launches. You can find the questionnaire here.
Dengeki has been reviewing the various jobs with the Ranger class here, and we can see that Adol, while not being the playable character, has joined your party. He doesn’t appear to be controllable, and with it being a showcase of the trial version, we can’t say for sure if there’ll be actual multiplayer later on in the game. There’s also a preview of the job change, which apparently happens at level 48. How long will it take to get there? We’ll have to wait and find out.
That’s it for the Ys VI Online job / battle system preview. Pre-registrations are open for the game through here.
