Crunchyroll has announced that an official Crunchyroll app is now available for the Nintendo Switch. This means that you’ll be able to quickly switch between watching a show on your tv to quickly taking it on the go.
Simply go to the Nintendo Switch Eshop and download the Crunchyroll app. Log in and enjoy your anime. Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan subscribers will also be able to download anime onto the app and watch it offline.
Crunchyroll is an anime streaming platform that contains a large catalog of different anime. While their offerings in South East Asia are fairly limited, at the very least they’ll allow you to watch Naruto Shippuden, The Ancient Magus Bride, and the new Shenmue anime for free when you make an account.
This is also good news as a lot of streaming services haven’t come to the Switch including Netflix, despite the fact that many did come to the Wii U and the Switch’s portability would make it a good fit to watch movies, series, and anime. It’s basically a smartphone with a bigger screen.
Well, we can only hope that more of these platforms make their way onto the Switch in the near future. At the very least it would mean, I wouldn’t have to turn on my PS4 every time I wanted to watch Netflix after playing Pokemon.
Crunchyroll is also available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
