Paper Ghost Stories 7PM, a Malaysia horror game based on local ghost stories is available on Steam for free. The game will be available for free until the 2nd of June meaning you have just over a week to pick it up.
Paper Ghost Stories: 7PM (originally named Short Creepy Tales: 7PM) was developed by local Malaysian studio Cellar Vault Games. The game takes clear inspiration from the many urban myths and ghost stories that many Malaysians were told as a child for an interactive horror title, all with the striking papercraft art style. You can check out a trailer for the game below:
“Play through the day’s experience as each of the three children living there and their attempts to invite a young mysterious new neighbor to play with them. However, what was supposed to be an offer of friendship quickly takes a dark turn as each of the children experience horrific visitations. Further so, not everyone or everything is as it seems in this apartment block, and dark secrets lurk everywhere if you can see them.”
Throughout the game, you’ll take control of one of the three children and explore a dark, cramped, apartment complex in an adventure game format. You’ll have to talk to other residents, complete small puzzles and mini-games, and try and figure out what is going on in your home.
The developers say that they intend Paper Ghost Stories to be the first in an anthology series of horror games.
