The horror series Yomawari returns with Yomawari 3 which has been announced for Switch and PS4. The game will release on the 21st of April 2022 in Japan.
Nippon Ichi Software has released a short teaser trailer to announce the game.
The Yomawari games are horror titles that take place in a small urban Japanese setting. The main character has to explore the dark empty town teeming with monsters and spirits with little way to defend against them other than to hide. You can tell how close a monster is by how loud the main character’s heartbeat is.
The first game Yomawari: Night Alone released on the PS Vita and Steam, The second game Yomawari: Midnight Shadows released for Vita, PS4, and Steam. Both games were later ported to the Nintendo Switch as part of a collection called Yomawari: The Long Night.
We still know little about the game but it will be directed by Munenori Hirose who had previously worked on the Disgaea games. The character designs are by Yu Mizokami who is the creator of the series and did the character designs of the previous games.
There is currently no word about an international release however considering the previous two games have come overseas, there’s no reason why this one shouldn’t.
Yomawari 3 is confirmed to release on Nintendo Switch and PS4.
