Xiaomi and LifeAfter online competition held – Save the world with Mi!

With the release of the Volcano Crisis update in LifeAfter, as well as the launch of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, the Netease game teamed up with the mobile company to host its first online live competition on 31 May. With popular live streamers and top players of LifeAfter from over the world participating, it was a thrilling and entertaining competition, where viewers could support their favourite players as well as predict on match outcomes during the stream.

With representatives from Southeast Asia and North America, they battled it out in the finals. A preliminary event on 19 May saw players from Canada, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, United States and other regions to compete for 12 spots in the finale. These 12 were then sorted into 4 teams to represent the server they’re from. Online sensation OfficialKai hosted the competition, with popular influencers Prabu linggabumi, RidoMeyer, Rin CSM GAMING, and Babeh Lintar acting as team captains.

The LifeAfter competition kicked off 31 May at 8pm. Players needed to pull all the stops: sharp controls, superb on-the-spot responses, and communication skills between captains and team members.

Warm-ups were done by racing vehicles around the camp race tracks, entering the Levin City New Area one team after another on OfficialKai’s signal. Each team had 40 minutes to collect as many special tokens as possible through Reward Quest and Encounter Quest completion, playing Fantasy Island mini-games, and by using Vending Machines. They then shared their collection total to the Scenario Channel, with the team having the most tokens winning the championship.

Each member of the winning team received a Redmi Note 9 Pro. Members of the running up team each received a Redmi Note 9, and the members of the third-placed team received a Redmi Note 8T each.

Viewers showed their support for their favourite players as they watched the stream, as well as sharing match predictions on LifeAfter‘s and Xiaomi‘s social media via the Facebook voting feature. Three of these viewers were lucky enough to be selected to win a Redmi 7 phone and Mi Smart Sensor Set; two were selected by livestream hosts, and one from the live comment section.

This latest partnership between LifeAfter and Xiaomi will be setting the tone for future collaborations moving forward.
