Kuro Games’ action RPG Wuthering Waves is expanding its horizons, launching on PlayStation 5 alongside its anticipated Version 2.0 update. The free-to-play title, which made its initial debut on PC and mobile platforms in May, brings its blend of open-world exploration and fast-paced combat to Sony’s console.
Wuthering Waves Version 2.0 introduces players to Rinascita, an archipelagic nation known for its artistic culture and elaborate masquerade celebrations. The update centers on Ragunna, a city-state where influential families hold sway over art and commerce. Players will explore this new region using enhanced movement abilities, including two new Echoes: the Gondola, enabling water navigation through Rinascita’s channels, and the Wingray, offering high-speed flight capabilities.

The update also brings several new gameplay features, including Flight Challenges and Dream Patrols, alongside new characters such as Carlotta and Roccia joining the playable roster. Players can participate in new activities like the Archive of Melodies and collect Monnaie commemorative coins throughout their journey.
Previously, an Awakening Bundle was available at $9.99, offering various in-game items including Lustrous Tide, Premium Resonance Potions, and bonus materials for pre-order customers. Wuthering Waves continues its narrative as players take on the role of Rover, exploring a post-apocalyptic world affected by the mysterious Lament. The game emphasizes freedom of movement and combat flexibility, allowing players to chain together dodges, counterattacks, and Echo Skills in fluid combat sequences.
The Version 2.0 update marks a significant expansion for the game, introducing not only new territories but also expanding the game’s reach to console players for the first time since its initial release.
