The launch of Wuthering Waves is a rocky one, and the game went under fire recently for its misleading translation error in the Japanese version of the game.
This particular translation error in the Japanese version of Wuthering Waves revolves around the 5-Star Broadsword Verdant Summit, which is Jiyan’s signature weapon as part of the current limited gacha banner.
The weapon has the effect Swordsworn, which reads:
Increases the DMG Bonus of all Resonance Attributes by 12%. Every time Intro Skill or Resonance Liberation is cast, increases Heavy Attack DMG Bonus by 24%, stacking up to 2 time(s). This effect lasts for 14s.
However, in the Japanese version, it was written as “Resonance Skill” instead of “Resonance Liberation”, misleading players on how the effect is being triggered.
For context, the mistranslated version would work well on another character named Calcharo, which is why a lot of people were spending their hard-earned currency to pull for the weapon without realizing it is not what is written.

Yesterday, an update was issued to fix the wording, and the developers apologized for the mishap, compensating players with 160 Astrite, the equivalent of a single pull.
The compensation amount sparked another community conversation, especially concerning those who had accidentally spent money attempting to pull the weapon.
In the realm of gacha, the highest rarity tends to have very low rates and can take many pulls to get your desired character or item- which is why players feel that the amount feels too low since some players have already unconsciously spent money on the wrong item due to small translation mistakes, and were hoping for refunds instead.
