Wuthering Waves will expand its combat mechanics by introducing “Dream Link” in its upcoming Version 1.4 update, titled “When the Night Knocks.” This new combat mechanism enhances the synergy between Resonators, enabling players to unlock enhanced combat potential when specific conditions occur during battles.
Alongside Dream Link, the update introduces “Illusive Sprint,” an overdrive combat feature that increases movement speed through white cat’s blessings. The new Resonator character, Lumi, will showcase this mechanic with a unique ability to dash instead of dodge and attack enemies while maintaining high mobility.
Version 1.4 also brings “Weapon Projection,” a cosmetic feature that allows players to modify weapon appearances without affecting their stats. Players can earn a free Weapon Projection for a 4-Star Sword through the Main Event, and a complete set of Transparent Weapon Projections will be available through the Depths of Illusive Realm event.
Quality-of-life improvements include Fast Travel options for Tacet Suppression and Boss challenges, double rewards for Forgery, Simulation, and Tacet Suppression activities, and streamlined Echo upgrade systems. The update also features interface enhancements, such as Waveplate information pop-ups and improved Tower of Adversity team management.
Echo upgrade systems have been refined to allow more precise control, with players now able to automatically upgrade Echoes to specific milestone levels (5/10/15/20/25) that unlock new substats. Interface improvements include Waveplate information pop-ups upon login and enhanced Echo absorption information displays, showing Sonata Effect categories alongside Mainstat and Substat information.
Both the Dream Link and Illusive Sprint features in Wuthering Waves will initially be available in the Version 1.4 Main Event before transitioning to permanent content, ensuring all players will have continued access to these new combat mechanics after the event concludes.
