This world is Hatsune Miku’s, with the launch of Project Sekai Colorful Stage! today! Featuring plenty of songs along with popular community producers, the rhythm game opens its doors to the world at large. If you tried out the demo version, you would need to uninstall it as it might cause issues with the full release.
The game features the various Vocaloid singers, along with original characters and stories to go with it. There are some snazzy features that the game also has, like virtual lives. Virtual lives are concerts held in-game, and players can attend them with others in real time to cheer on their favourite performers. Tap on a ticket for the show you want to attend, and you can create or join private rooms as you wait for the show to begin. A maximum of 15 players can be in a “meetup area” at a time, and you can chat, perform actions or send stickers to the others.
To recreate the feeling of being at an actual concert, you can also purchase merchandise for your avatar to wear, glow sticks or even new actions. At the show proper, you can freely look around the venue in first person. Change your glow stick colour, use virtual items or stickers or perform an action like you might at an actual concert!
We might not be able to go to concerts in real life anytime soon, but with the launch of Project Sekai, hey, we can see Miku and friends perform in their virtual space.
