Anime studio CloverWorks announced a new anime project scheduled for January 2021. The project, titled Wonder Egg Priority, will be produced by Aniplex.
CloverWorks is a well-regarded studio in the anime community. They were behind anime like Fate/Grand Order: Absolute Demonic Front Babylonia, as well as Darling in the Franxx.
To celebrate the announcement, Aniplex did put out a trailer, but it’s region locked. However, you can view it on the official Twitter, instead.
From the poster, we can safely assume that the main character’s name is Ai. The teaser they put out shows no hints of the eponymous Wonder Egg, so its really anyone’s guess where the plot will go. That being said, we’ll definitely find out more closer to the anime’s premiere.
Shinji Nojima is working on the screenplay for the anime. Fans might know his work from live-action series Takane no Hana. This series marks Nojima’s anime debut.
Wonder Egg Priority will be directed by 22/7 Director Shin Wakabayashi. Saki Takahashi, animation producer of Her Blue Sky, is in charge of designing characters.
The trailer does give off some vaguely supernatural vibes, and Ai’s unique appearance definitely lends credence to this theory as well. We’ll just have to wait and see when then anime drops in January of next year.
