Witness the Balan Wonderworld: Opening Movie revealed

Square Enix has released the opening movie to BALAN WONDERWORLD, an all-new action platformer from the creators of Sonic the Hedgehog. The stage is set for the game’s story, with protagonists Leo Craig and Emma Cole entering a theater and meeting the mysterious maestro, Balan, who draws them into the magical universe of Wonderworld. BALAN WONDERWORLD will be available on Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S with Smart Delivery support, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Get your first taste of the titular Wonderworld with Balan through the opening movie. Jump, climb, fly, smash and more, through this land while discovering a multitude of unique areas and collecting over 80 unique costumes to assist on the journey. Each costume bestows its own special power, like the Rail Runner outfit that allows players to summon train tracks in certain areas for faster traversal across long distances and obstacles.

Brought to you by renowned gaming industry talent including Director, Yuji Naka (Sonic the Hedgehog Franchise Creator, Sonic Team Co-Founder) and Character Designer, Naoto Ohshima (Sonic the Hedgehog, Doctor Eggman, Sonic Team Co-Founder), BALAN WONDERLAND marks Yuji Naka and Naoto Ohshima’s first collaboration in 20 years and is the first game from the newly established BALAN COMPANY gaming brand. BALAN COMPANY brings together talented video game developers, visual artists, and composers to tell the greatest stories and provide the ultimate platformer experiences.

The game will launch on 26 March 2021, with the Steam version released on 27 March 2021.
