Game developers Love&Art announced today an upcoming mobile game based on the Wave!! series. The surfing-themed game will be out this Winter. The supported devices haven’t been offically announced.
While no specifics have been given on the game, it’s large roster makes it safe to assume it’s a training sim/gacha. The game features a large cast of surfer boys, all with distinct identifiable colors.
However, Love&Art did put out a key visual for the upcoming game, featuring all the boys.
While not much is known about the actual game, it’s apparently being developed with the supervision of the Nippon Surfing Association, the supervision cooperation of Surf Magazine, and the cooperation of Murasaki Sports.
The game is another part of the Wave!! multimedia franchise, including three anime movies all set for next month. These movies will be released in batches on October 16, 20 and 30th.
Meanwhile, the overall multimedia project’s theme, “Ride the WAVE!!” will be sung by the main eight voice actors of the series. They will be known as a Unit called Naminori Boys (NBS). The name means “Surfing boys”.
Aside from the game and anime, the project will also include a radio show, as well as a 4-panel (4-koma) manga to be released in both English and Japanese.
The project has some heavyweights working on it, such as Goblin Slayer’s Takahiro Ozaki directing the franchise’s anime.
