The global version of War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius has finally dropped, so that means one thing; Who is the best starting unit? In this short reroll guide and tier list, we are going to be covering the basics when it comes to getting a good start in this game. If you need help with actually playing the game itself, be sure to check out or beginner’s guide here.
Rerolling itself is fairly straightforward, as you will need to uninstall and reinstall the game if you find your rolls less than satisfying. Here we will guide you how to do it in the least painful way possible. To begin, choose to download the game data minus the voices, since that takes up about half the file size.
This is pretty much the most time consuming process rerolling in War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, as after that it is mostly smooth sailing. Do the tutorial to get it out of the way, and you know you are done once the game no longer prompts you to do things, where you will be on your own for the most part. There is also a tutorial-only 10 roll and here you can decide already if you want to begin rerolling, especially if you want to maximise the number of URs you get.
With the tutorial done, clear out all gifts and you should have 3,500 gems to work. Go to the summons tab, and be sure to ignore everything but the step up gacha, as it gives you the most bang for your gems. Do your two 10 rolls, and you will have 1,000 gems left. For the remaining 1,000 needed to execute the last stage of the step gacha, you can do the two beginner missions to get the necessary currency. Also, depending on what you managed to roll, you can also get gems for fulfilling certain missions.
Now is the part you are really here for, and with the pool being as limited as it is, the tier list is not particularly complex, and you should have an easier time getting what you want. The general idea here is to have as many URs as your luck will allow, but as a minimum, you want the core character paired with at least another unit from this list.
Mediena
Just about every other guide out there will tell you to aim for Mediena, and for good reason too. She is core in every team, and is the one you want to shoot for no matter what. The best way to describe this mage is a Swiss Army knife, because of her versatility in every game content, with no exceptions. She has the highest MATK value out of any character available right now, and with her Ninja sub-job, she has good speed to work with as well. Furthermore, her limit break ability is a large, instant-cast AOE that can delete anything in the game with relative ease. Get Mediena and any other UR and you are done rerolling. The Japanese tier list still has her placed first.
Engelbert
As the strongest tank in the game, Engelbert shines the most in arena, guild war and end game content in general. With a bit of luck and a good build, this tank can just about take on any melee teams by himself. He is this game’s equivalent to the Doom Slayer, and he will rip and tear until it is done. However, if you are not particularly competitive, just having the main character, Mont, handle tanking duties should suffice in most cases.
Ayaka
Indispensable for end-game solo content and fairly useful early game, Ayaka is a great healer who is also capable of buffing the team. Paired with Engelbert, she is able to wreck all sorts of havoc in guild war and arena. To be honest, you can do without her, since healers are not necessary for overall game progression.
Gilgamesh
Not recommended since it costs twice as many shards necessary to level him up compared to other URs. He does good damage, although his HP and defence are on the lower side.
Sterne
A very strong character that is going to be very helpful early in the game. Unfortunately he drops off fairly fast, as he does not have a large HP pool, nor does he have any combo skills which are going to be necessary for raids. It doesn’t help that an upcoming character going by the name Orlandeau is going to make Sterne obsolete in about two month’s time.
While there are a couple more of URs, they are not particularly critical. As long as you have Mediena and have a combination of one or two of the other URs listed here, you are set to go on your adventure in War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.
