Ever since Apple launched iPhone X, the FullView display has rapidly become one of the most common features you can see on the smartphone nowadays. Vivo NEX with the no-notch FullView display was quite pricey, but now, Vivo has launched the V11 with a large Halo FullView display yet affordable price to save our wallet. We are lucky to get our hands on the phone, so check out our Vivo V11 review below to know what are our thoughts on it!

Design and Display
V11 is featuring a 6.41″ Super AMOLED Halo FullView display (it looks like a teardrop on its upper part) with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The side borders are only 1.76mm, allowing a bigger space for the display. It also features an In-Display Fingerprint Scanner instead of the usual fingerprint pad to create a seamless design from front to back.
At the back, its 3D cover comes with a fresh, unconventional fusion colour. There are 2 colour options – Nebula and Starry Night, while the one we get is in Nebula that shifts from purple at the bottom to blue at the top. Noted that the cover is quite a fingerprint magnet so the clear protective case coming together in the box become useful here. Also, it has 12MP+5MP AI dual rear camera located on the upper left corner of the back.

Camera
If you are a person who loves to take photos, V11 would be one of your best choices. It is featuring 12MP + 5MP dual-lens rear camera, where the main 12MP camera boasts 24 MP photosensitive units to provide a huge boost in light sensitivity. Thanks to the AI Low Light Mode that reduces noise in low light situations too, you can take bright and stunning shots easily. You can take backlit photos effortlessly using the newly updated HDR technology as well.
Other than the AI scene recognition feature which has been a common thing now, there is also an AI Portrait Framing feature that guides you for a better portrait shot. It examines the current position of your photo’s subject, then directs you to hold your phone in the optimal position. With this technology, your photo would be perfectly framed everytime! While if you are someone who likes to selfie, V11 is having a 25MP front camera with AI Face Shaping that automatically make each of your selfies social-media worthy (but not looking over-processed). There are a lot of AR stickers for you to play around too!

Performance and Battery
Although V11 is only a mid-range smartphone, it still comes with some great specs. It is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE processor and 6GB RAM which is enough to run multiple apps at once or play most of the graphically-intensive 3D games smoothly. The 128GB storage that originally comes with the device will be enough to store your essential apps and plenty of mobile games too.
We tested the smartphone with a few games such as PUBG Mobile, Monster Hunter Stories and Pokemon Quest. Unfortunately, it could only run PUBG Mobile at HD graphics settings but on the good side, the device doesn’t become too hot even after a few hours of non-stop gaming. It managed to run 30 FPS or more on Monster Hunter Stories too.
For a game that needs you to keep the screen on and grind (eg: Pokemon Quest), you will need a phone with long-lasting battery life. Vivo V11’s 3400 mAh battery is able to last quite a lot hours of gaming, and even though the battery runs out, you can charge it back to 100% in approximate 1.5 hours thanks to its fast-charging technology.
Just like Vivo NEX, V11 also features the Game Assistant allowing you to auto reject calls or block floating preview. The Game Assistant optimizes the game to its best performance as well.
Conclusion
Vivo V11 is a great mid-range smartphone in overall. On the outside, it features a stylish design with big display while on the inside, it features powerful cameras with great AI features (especially useful for those who suck in taking photos) and solid gaming performance. You won’t feel any lags or delays when gaming on V11 even though it is not using Snapdragon 845!
Available in 2 colours – Starry Night and Nebula, Vivo V11 is now available in Malaysia at only RM1699. For more information, you can visit their official site or Facebook.
