Publisher and developer Square Enix and developer Ouka Studios have unveiled new details and images for Visions of Mana. The latest reveal introduces players to Aesh, a new support character, and delves deeper into the game’s Elemental Vessels and Elemental Plots systems.
The story follows Val, a newly appointed soul guard, and his childhood friend Hinna, who the Faerie chose as the Alm of Fire. Their journey begins in Tianeea, the Fire Village, as they embark on a pilgrimage to the Tree of Mana to rejuvenate the world’s mana power. Along the way, they’ll encounter intriguing characters like Aesh, a curious scholar from the Log’grattzo Dark Archives.
One of the game’s key features is the Elemental Vessel system. These mystical artifacts house elemental powers that players can use both in combat and exploration. The Gnome Shovel (Earth), Lumina Lantern (Light), and Shade Sight (Darkness) are just a few examples of the vessels players will wield. Each offers unique abilities, such as controlling golems, manipulating light, or harnessing gravity.
Visions of Mana introduces a dynamic progression system that allows characters to expand their combat capabilities significantly as they advance. As Val’s proficiency with different weapon types grows, so does his arsenal of class strikes.
Meanwhile, exploration takes center stage with the introduction of Elemental Triggers which are environmental puzzles that require players to use their vessels. Furthermore, Li’l Cactus will return, as the wandering plant chronicles its adventures in the Cactus Diary.
With its blend of classic Mana series elements and fresh gameplay mechanics, Visions of Mana is shaping up to be an exciting addition to the action RPG genre. The game will be available on multiple platforms, including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.
