Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown, a graphical remake of Virtua Fighter 5, has announced its release date, and joins the June Playstation Plus lineup.
The game will be free on PlayStation Plus from June to August, allowing you to permanently own the game as long as you redeem it within this period. The Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown retail release date is also June 1st.
The Legendary Pack will also be available for purchase and brings a range of features, including character customization, to enhance your experience. Also, Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown main game & DLC Pack, which contains both the original game and DLC as a set geared towards PS Plus non-subscribers, will also be available.
As mentioned, the game boasts a graphical overhaul, giving all the characters updated models, as well as cleaned up animations and additional effects to their attacks.
The remake will also add a new spectator mode, allowing players to watch matches in real-time. There’ll even be an in-game chat while these matches are going on, with stickers that you can use to cheer on your favorite players.
The Virtua Fighter series has been in limbo for a while, with many joking that the only next gen ports of the series have been via minigames in the Yakuza series, with Yakuza 7 and Judgment‘s arcades actually including the whole arcade versions of Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown.
