Velvet Code has been accepting pre-registrations for quite a while now, but since they’ve got a tentative launch date, there’s something more substantial to look forward to. Published by Game Hours and developed by WeGames Japan, this is a mobile game in the vein of Azur Lane, featuring a large variety of ship girls. Check out its promotional trailer below:
Pre-registration rewards go up to 200,000 users, offering the usual array of currency, upgrade materials, with Rodney available at the 200,000 mark, voiced by Ayaka Suwa. Velvet Code is scheduled to launch sometime “this winter”. They’ve hit the 30,000 mark, going by their Twitter follower count.
You may have seen a bunch of gameplay videos going round, as it concluded a closed beta test in December 2021. While ostensibly Kantai Collection may be the “OG” ship girls game, Azur Lane really is Velvet Code‘s template, with real time combat, bullet hell style attacks, fancy cut-ins, skill animations, and a 3D rendered battlefield and models.
There’s the usual stuff about being able to deepen your bonds with your various ship girls, training system and what should be a dorm system if the hot springs are any indication.
The official Twitter has been previewing a number of the girls you’ll be able to obtain in the game, so do check it and the official website out.
