AQUAPLUS has just launched SRPG Utawarerumono: Lost Flag will be out for the Android and iOS platforms after announcing the game not too long ago.
For the uninitiated, Utawarerumono: Lost Flag is based on the Utawarerumono franchise that made its debut for personal computers in 2002, before making its way to the consoles. This time around, the game will be set in a different world than that of the original game and the subsequent trilogy sequel, in which players will assume the roles of a princess who is bound by her bloodline and a man suffering from amnesia who can no longer remember his own name. Bound by destiny, the two must embark on a journey of self discovery.
The game boast more than 20 characters, some of whom are recurring characters from past games. As you progress through the story, you will be able to recruit them to your cause. As each character have their own abilities and skillset, you will have to form a team that best utilises the tools presented to them. Fans of the franchise and in the genre in particular should be able to appreciate this title.
It is worth noting that the developer once said it would abstain from developing a mobile game, so it would be interesting what made them change their mind and if this would justify them going back on their initial stance. One thing we can appreciate is that the game is at least still the same genre that it has always been, so one can just consider this a platform shift. Hopefully, the heart of the game remains, although being a free to play title, expect some tweaks here and there. Drop by the official website for more details if this piques your interest, and if you like it, be sure to get it off the respective platform stores right away.
