The upcoming Demon Slayer game, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – Hinokami Kepputan will be expanding its platforms on launch, as it was previously only announced for PS4.
Instead, the game will now launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and PC. The news was announced via the latest issue of Weekly Jump, which teased more information was on the way.
On top of that, we also know a bit more about the game, although no gameplay has been shown yet. The game will feature a Story Mode, where you’ll be playing through the game’s story. It’s not currently known if this would be an original story for the game, or whether you’d be playing through the massively popular events of Demon Slayer.
Aside from that, you also have a “Tag Battle” mode, which would let you play as multiple different characters with simplified controls. Aniplex and Cyberconnect2 haven’t explained if this would mean that you’d be playing as more than just Tanjiro in the story mode. According to Gematsu the mode will have simplified controls.
Information on the Demon Slayer game has been scarce, other than its being developed by anime game specialist Cyberconnect 2 and published by anime stalwart Aniplex. However, more will be coming in the February 15 issue of Weekly Jump.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba is one of the most prolific anime of the past few years, exploding in popularity. The most recent movie, Mugen Train, currently holds the record as the highest grossing movie in Japan.
