The Award-winning games all cover a breadth of subject matter, from horror games to dancefloor brawls. The games are downloadable from the UOWM KDU itch.io page.
The SIGG 2020 are hosted by the Innovation and Commercialization Centre, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). First established in 2017, the awards recognize both local game development as well as focusing on educational games.
Some of the other winners include My Fardhu (Gold) as well as Scooter Ibadah (Gold), both games with religious themes. The full list of winners can be found here.
Having local universities have their own Awards shows is just as healthy as the local students winning the awards, as it allows a more healthy spirit of competition. It also allows games to be recognized on a critical level, rather than only having success be attributed to financial gain.
