Admittedly, I’m a bit of the fanboy when it comes to the PSVR2. VR headsets are an interesting step forward for games, and the time I had with the device at TGS made me really excited for the product’s full release.
Thankfully, we’ve been sent an early unit for the PSVR2. We’ll save our further thoughts for our full review, but for now we wanted to share what it’s like unboxing this beauty.
Cracking open the box, you’ll find everything you need to leave behind your fleshy world of disappointments and hop into one of polygons and entertainment. The PSVR2 contains:
- 1 PSVR2 Headeset
- 2 controllers (one left and one right)
- 1 set of 3D audio earphones (complete with extra inserts)
- 1 USB-C cable
- 1 Instruction manual
The headset looks particularly mecha-esque, with the front-facing cameras making it look like I should be defending Hong Kong from a Kaiju double-event. It also features a handy knob for making sure it sits on your head when you’re courting 8-foot tall vampires.
The controllers are equally stylish, sporting the same black-button aesthetic as the Dualsense Edge. It sports a more ergonomic button placement, so don’t worry about having to do jutsus to hit all your buttons.
The PSVR2 launches in Malaysia on the 22nd of February, so be sure to pick one up for yourself or stay tuned for our full review about this flashy and impressive piece of hardware.
