Ubisoft have announced that the mobile Assassin’s Creed game titled Codename Jade is now open for pre-registrations, ahead of the first public test session planned for this Summer.
Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade was initially revealed in the previous Ubisoft Forward last year and is the product between the partnership of Ubisoft and Level Infinite. Since the initial announcement followed by a technical alpha session, the developers have received a lot of valuable feedback that helped them improve the quality of the game.
Throughout the planned beta session, the developers will be giving special access to a small number of players to re-test the initial version of the game to gather feedback to ensure the best quality of all elements, from visuals, gameplay balancing, and other important elements.
Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade is developed using the Unreal Engine base which targets high-end graphic quality. The developers have also put in more emphasis on the game’s control scheme to avoid it being stiff, and to make sure the game will provide a smooth and intuitive transition for players who are accustomed to playing with controllers and touch screens.
Setting
For those who are unfamiliar, Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade takes place in ancient China, specifically after the Warring States period where the Qin Dynasty began to unify China and secure trade routes to the Western region.
The game’s storyline is placed between the timeline of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Origins, which happens to be an important period in Chinese History as there were many major changes that took place in the region; including the beginning of the construction of the Great Wall to secure trade routes between the East and West.
In the game, you’ll be taking on the role of a student in an order of assassins who are currently undergoing a big mission to uncover the mystery behind the Qin Dynasty. For the first time, players are now given an abundance of customisation options to create their character however they want. Additionally, the game also allows for an extensive open-world exploration and a variety of combat styles for players to test out.
More details on Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade will be shared in a follow-up update later this Summer.
