Hope you’re in for a paranormal adventure, as the Two Point Campus School Spirits DLC is creeping up a scare.
Haunts For All
School Spirits is bringing in a new campus located in Lifeless Estate, which is a haunted by unwelcome and undead spirits; which does give off a creepy look to them. The aesthetics for the DLC is pretty dark, not metaphorically but quite literally.
The entire map is just darker than the other campuses, even the witch themed one. And to unlock Lifeless Estate, you’ll need to achieve 1 star in the first 3 levels on Noblestead.
Aside from the new campus, the School Spirits DLC also brings in some new things that players can incorporate to their campus for both design purposes and additional bonuses.
Ghouling Assignments
With a new campus there’s bound to be some new courses for the students to attend. The DLC brings in two new courses in Paranormal Detection and School Spirits (I see what they did there). The Paranormal Detection course is for the students who are still alive, while School Spirits is for the dead.
These courses have their own classrooms just like any other courses in the game. But it’s just a new themed classroom with some new effects and animations, nothing too crazy.
Lift Those Spirits
Two Point Campus School Spirits brings in two new archetypes of students, the first being the ones who are still in the realm of the living, attending the Paranormal Detection course. While the other are dead floating spirits that attend School Spirits.
With new students, there’s a bunch of new animations that we can look at and appreciate, but that’s pretty much it. The ghost students are a lot easier to take care of, since they don’t really care about temperature, food or drinks, considering they’re already dead. So that’s nice.
As for the new staff, it’s pretty much the same but with new traits. The teachers have some new traits that corresponds with the new courses, and the janitor has a trait called Ghost capture which deals with ghosts who has gone rogue and rooms that are haunted.
Ghastly Mechanics
There are two new gameplay mechanics in this DLC. In order to expand the campus, players will need to complete the Expulsion Ceremonies, which you send your students our to do your jobs for you. It’s essentially like a raid boss quest with a bunch of people taking down a big boss ghost. The efficiency entirely depends on your student’s grades, so this does reflect on their academic performance. Do note that there’s a time limit to the quest, and if they fail to capture the ghost within the time limit, you’ll need to retry it.
The other mechanic is the Haunted Rooms, which will make your students suffer from different effects. To clear out the Haunted Rooms, you’ll need to assign a janitor with Ghost Capture to deal with it.
Verdict
Two Point Campus School Spirits DLC is just another DLC for the game, which is already a good management game. And as always, new stuff means more fun, and this DLC does have some new things for players to try out.
Although, it does feel a little bit out of season, considering it’s nowhere near Halloween, but it’s still good stuff regardless.
