Square Enix has released a new trailer for Triangle Strategy, introducing players to secondary main character Frederica Aesfrost, her domineering family, and the conflicts you’ll face throughout the game.
in Triangle Strategy, Frederica Aesfrost is a member of the previously introduced (and increasingly sinister) Aesfrost family. She is the daughter of King Gustadolph however she is betrothed to the game’s main protagonist Serenoa Wolffort and as such, betrays her father when he attempts to invade neighboring lands including Serenoa’s home, the Glenbrook Kingdom.
It is clear that Frederica doesn’t get along well with the rest of the Aesfrost family. She is half Roselle, a race of people in the game with pink hair, something that causes clear resentment among some of her family members.
The choices the player makes in the game will determine the outcome for its characters, one of which includes surrendering the Roselle so the House Wolffort can win status among the nobility.
Will you make that choice, and sacrifice them, that’s for you to figure out in the game.
The trailer makes it clear that the game will feature the same medieval nobility politics of games like Yasumi Matsuno’s Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics, which Triangle Strategy takes clear inspiration from.
Triangle Strategy will be available on the Nintendo Switch from the 14th of March 2022.
