Snowpipe has begun accepting pre-registrations for their TRANSFORMERS ALLIANCE open beta test as of 23 February 2022. The game is currently planned for a 2022 release in Japan.
Transformers: Alliance is an Augmented Reality (AR) game that uses Location Based Services (LBS), so you’ve basically experienced it before if you’ve played games like Pokemon Go and Pikmin Bloom, to name but two. LBS is used to occupy “Space Bridges” which can then be used to extend your influence, so to speak. “Occupation Battles” will see you use your collected Transformers to defend your area and occupy others, with higher level “Space Bridges” allowing you to earn more in-game items and rare parts.
A prior closed beta test was completed in April 2021, with feedback used to improve the tutorial and user interface. The AR scanner’s accuracy has also been increased, since that is one of the main parts of the game. You’re meant to scan objects from which you can summon the titular Transformers. The voice actors from the animated series reprise their roles in the game, as it features an original storyline too.
Pre-registering for the open beta will grant players various in-game items, including gacha tickets. Reaching account level 50 and above during the OBT period will reward even more bonus goodies and resources they can use when the game officially launches. The date for the open beta was not provided, but more information can be found via the official website, Twitter, and Youtube.
