The official Pokémon Go Twitter account has just announced that we will finally be getting Trainer Battles (PvP)! We are definitely excited over the inclusion, as PvP is one of those traditional Pokémon features that all Pokémon Go wanted from day one but was missing until now.

The inclusion of gym battles which everyone could participate wasn’t quite what we imagined, although a welcomed addition nonetheless. Trading was just added too, so that is nice.
Anyway for the PvP mode itself, Niantic added more information on it. There will be a total of three different leagues, each named after a Poké Ball, namely the Great, Ultra and Master Leagues. Each league have its own power requirements so you will find something that matches the strength of your team.
Here’s a breakdown of each Battle League’s requirements:
🏆 Great League: 1,500 CP limit per Pokémon
🏆 Ultra League: 2,500 CP limit per Pokémon
🏆 Master League: No CP limit per Pokémon pic.twitter.com/qF7f3KDco5— Pokémon GO (@PokemonGoApp) November 30, 2018
More info about Pokémon GO Trainer Battles will be released soon so stay tuned! While waiting, you can get ready by reviewing the Pokémon in your Pokédex and creating battle parties for each league! 😀
