Last weekend, the 5-days event that many gamers have been long-awaited for – Taipei Game Show 2018 has successfully held in Taipei World Trade Center. Gathered about 400 companies from 28 countries (Sony PlayStation, Bandai Namco and more) to showcase their newest products, the event has welcomed more than 350,000 audiences and we are lucky to be one of them. Before talking about our experience during the event, check out our recap video below!
Arriving at the venue early in the morning and you will be able to see a super long queue waiting to enter the venue. Thankfully, the organizers really did well in site-planning – there is a couple of entrance and exit for the convenience of the visitors. The exhibition booths are allocated well too, you can still walk around freely even though there is a lot of visitors inside the venue (most of the times).
The most popular booth during Taipei Game Show 2018 will be the bigger companies’ including Sony PlayStation, Ubisoft, Bandai Namco and Sega, while for mobile, major titles such as Lineage M, Fate/Grand Order and Tower of Saviors are getting a large audience. There is also an area for the indie game developers to showcase their works as well as an area specially designed for VR games!
As many of the newest and unreleased video games/mobile games are up for hands-on, a vast amount of visitors are queueing up for their turns. The average wait times are quite short, with some of the booth giving out reserve tickets that allows you to return to the booth on a specific time (you don’t have to waste your time queueing). There will be staffs holding up signs that indicate the location of the end of the line so you won’t feel lost figuring where to queue.
Talking about the stage activities, several guests from the big companies such as Capcom’s Ryozo Tsujimoto and Sega’s Toshihiro Nagoshi also make an appearance along with new updates and announcements for the fans. Plenty of interview session has prepared for the media and we are lucky to be able to interview Code Vein‘s producer and Far Cry 5‘s lead writer! The greatest hit since last year – PUBG held a competition at TpGS 2018 too, not to mentioned the non-stop stage activities hosted by local Youtubers or beautiful models.
Other than that, tons of PC companies are showcasing their newest products, you can also enjoy board games during the event. There is a lot of cosplayers walking around at the venue as well. As we mentioned earlier, there is quite a lot of unreleased game such as the official Attack on Titan mobile game showcased at the event, we had our hands-on too so check out our review and see if it is something you would like!
That is all of the summary of our experience at Taipei Game Show 2018! With all those hands-on (especially on the unreleased games) and stage activities, aren’t you think it is a must-go event for every gamer? Special thanks to Plextor who gave us the chance to attend TpGS 2018 live and hopefully we will be able to attend the event again next year!
