Touhou: Lost Word is now available, with service having commenced 30 April. It’s a gacha game closer with a presentation that is a little closer to its source material, albeit a turn-based battle RPG game with use of spell cards rather than a shoot ’em up. Contrast that with Touhou Cannonball, which is like a Monopoly game.
A global release has apparently been confirmed, with the source being the following image:
Characters will be able to unleash their attacks, as well as their “Last Word” spell cards if they boost themselves. In the gacha, there will be both characters and equipment for them. Characters have no rarity levels; instead, it is applied to the equipment. You have your standard expedition style quests where you send out characters to obtain resources. Costumes can also be bought for characters.
Some of the music has been composed by various circles who should be familiar to Touhou fans, including Hachimitsu Lemon, COOL&CREATE and Melodic Taste.
There is a log in bonus currently running, which will end 13 May. As you might expect, you can receive a variety of goodies. As you start the game, there will be one rigged roll to provide a character. You can’t reroll it on the spot, unfortunately.
Touhou: Lost Word is now available to try in Japanese, with a global release maybe sometime in the future.
