The Total War franchise newest historical based title, Total War: Pharaoh was recently announced and scheduled for an October 2023 release date.
This latest installment in the franchise will take players through the events of the Egyptian New Kingdom period where the fate of three great cultures will be determined amid the Bronze-Age Collapse.
“There are few periods more iconic than Ancient Egypt; fraught with political intrigue, cataclysmic events and grand war campaigns, it’s the perfect setting for a Total War title. As Pharaoh, you must save Egypt from the cusp of destruction and guide your people through the calamitous Bronze-Age collapse. It is up to you to either survive or fade into history.” said Game Director, Todor Nikolov.
Total War: Pharaoh will have players choose between eight Faction Leaders from three rich cultural hubs with each one featuring unique playstyles and diverse unit rosters. The game will also feature a beautiful and vibrant recreation of Ancient Egypt during the height of its power, from the banks of the river Nile to the deserts of the Sinai Peninsula.
Battles will also play out dynamically in Total War: Pharoah, with the environments such as thunderstorms and sandstorms directly affecting the surrounding terrain resulting in a drastic change in the tides of battle. Not only that, the game will also feature a brand-new Campaign Customization feature that allows players to toy with natural disasters and much more, resulting in a more tailored experience suited to the players preference.
The game is available now for pre-order at their Steam store and offers early-adopter bonuses, including an Early-Access Weekend, the Avatar of the Gods Cosmetic Pack and the Heart of Shardana Cosmetic pack. Do take note that at time of writing, details regarding the Early-Access Weekend were not provided yet at the Steam store and will be shared at a later date.
