After having opened closed beta sign-ups, Torchlight: Infinite will be commencing the first closed beta test 18 January 2022. Selected players in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand will be getting their instructions to access the beta when it goes live on Android and iOS. A new gameplay trailer showcasing some of the latest skill combos has also been released in conjunction with the announcement.
First announced in 2020 in partnership with Perfect World, the game is the latest entry to Runic Games’ Torchlight series, a hack and slash ARPG featuring flexible hero building, fast-paced combat, and the oh-so-adorable pets. Set 200 years after Torchlight II, players will be tasked to stop Aember – the Ember Blight – from corrupting the sacred land of Leptis, in the midst of a prosperous Era of Ember Tech.
Four playable heroes with 24 elaborate talent trees spanning 180+ skills will be available in the first closed beta of Torchlight: Infinite, promising even more freedom than its predecessor games in customizing your heroes. Other beta features include:
- All heroes, skills, items, and maps can be unlocked for free
- Randomized dungeons, encounters, and loot drops with magic find
- No attack cooldowns or stamina system to limit extended play sessions
Participants are encouraged to share their experience and submit feedback via the official forums and Discord to assist the development team in polishing the game. There will also be dev blogs via TapTap for you to stay up to date on the news and announcements on the official launch.
