You might have heard rumblings about Torchlight: Infinite being “pay to win”, as we reported here. There has since been a dev blog post to address these concerns, talking about the adjustment plans for microtransactions. The talking points can be summarized as follows:
- Trade House: Base free Booth Tab slots increased, price for each tab reduced, purchasing a Season Pass
- Hero Traits: Future heroes’ first hero traits unlocked on purchase of Season Pass, other traits available through direct purchase, increase avenues to obtain traits for free e.g. through in-game resources or achievements
- Season Pass: Base Auto-Pick (auto-loot) will be part of free track reward
Will these changes be enough for players in practice? Well, you’ll be able to find out for yourself soon enough when you have more time to play.
