We’ve covered what you can get from the MSI GS66 Stealth before, which you can check out here. Simply put, you get a Intel 10th Gen CPU and NVIDIA® GeForce RTX2080 Super Max-Q for that desktop level performance, on the go, and packed in a discreet design for whatever you need to use it for. It’s time we put our money where our mouth is and test out that touted high performance with a series of AAA games.
On the testing block today, we’ll be putting the GS66 Stealth through:
- Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
- Immortals: Fenyx Rising
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Watch Dogs: Legion
CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS COLD WAR
We can swoon over the campaign and all, but considering Warzone and the highly-touted multiplayer modes and maps, that’s where our focus lay for the test experience. Of course, the specs for the laptop is more than enough to run the game with settings cranked up, so the connectivity with the Killer AX1650 and WiFi 6 was put to the test. Suffice to say, there was no noticeable delay throughout the gameplay experience, and targetting was as accurate to our own inputs. In both single and multiplayer modes, the game ran at a cool 60 to 80 FPS on High graphic settings.
IMMORTALS: FENYX RISING
Think open world, think beautiful landscapes, think of the pretty desktop backgrounds! The MSI GS66 Stealth comes with a 15.6-inch IPS screen at 1920 x 1080 resolution and 300Hz refresh rate. You’ll get your breathtaking, immersive views, and your detailed facial expressions on characters. It’s not going to be lacking in the performance department in general, seeing all them particle effects and such where applicable, looking as how they should. Expect 60 to 80 FPS on High graphic settings.
ASSASSIN’S CREED VALHALLA
Another open world title from Ubisoft, this time from the ever storied Assassin’s Creed series. This time, we’re delving into the world of Vikings, coming with it the conquest and exploration of a new world. With RTX and graphics all cranked up high, you too can feel like the pioneer for your people. We also gave it a shot with the in-game benchmarking test, with results you can see for yourself. As with the previous titles, there will be no glaring issues regarding the game’s performance and looks, running from 50 to 80 FPS.
CYBERPUNK 2077
You’ve probably heard of all the issues in the game, which we’d expect CD Projekt Red to fix in time. The bugs aside, strictly going by how the game runs on the MSI GS66 Stealth, you will not be encountering any problems. The machine will cruise along on High graphic settings with all the loving details put into this world, running anywhere between 60 to 120 FPS. If you haven’t already gotten the game for the last-gen consoles – which is pretty much nigh unplayable – might as well get the PC version. You’d be able to visit Night City anytime with the laptop too. Be sure to say hi to Johnny Silverhand for us.
WATCH DOGS: LEGION
With RTX on and High graphics settings, your London sandbox will naturally look gorgeous. Granted, the beauty can come at high cost for some of us if the hardware ain’t up to snuff, requiring some scaling down. The game hits a high of 70 FPS with all the frills, so hack the world at your leisure as you walk down the streets of London with your assortment of lackeys.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE
With all that said and done, you can trust the MSI GS66 Stealth to carry the load when you want to get your gaming on the road at high quality. What else is there really to say besides, yes, it will definitely pull its weight? These are some of the most demanding AAA games you can get this year: you can’t get much tougher test runs than these! It’s pretty much future-proofing for next year’s releases. You can check out the benchmarking numbers for yourself:
With the discreet black chassis of the MSI GS66 Stealth, you can be that powerhouse worker by day, and hardcore gamer by night, or even get in a spot of gaming time during your work breaks to relax a little, how about that?
