We don’t always get the chance to laze around at home playing on our consoles or PCs; mobile games are the way to go when you’re out and about! Here are our picks of fun mobile games of all time. Lots of different genres for different people, so read on (not rated in any particular order):

One of the installments of the Sky Gamblers franchise, this flight game is an fast-paced action shooter. 3) Monument Valley
iTunes rating: 4.5/5
Google Play rating: 4.5/5
Monument Valley is one of those games that offers a surreal feeling, the art style and structured yet abstract architecture makes the game more interesting than the rest. The optical illusions really adds to that ‘wow’ factor, you’ll have to look in many perspectives. In short, a stunning game, original and beautiful.

5) Alto’s Adventure
iTunes rating: 4.7/5
Google Play: 4.5/5
An endless runner snowboarding video game where the character moves automatically. Players can only control when to jump. The most notable thing about this game is it’s landscape. Visuals! Visuals galore! Weather will change the scenery and it’s absolutely stunning.
[btnsx id=”460″]
6) Infinity Blade
iTunes rating: 4.7/5
An RPG fighting game that had won several awards, it’s the first iOS game to run on the Unreal Engine. Some think it gets a little repetitive, but those who don’t mind grinding levels would be okay with it. Interesting combat and convincing gameplay. Unfortunately this game is not available on Android.

7) The Room Series
iTunes rating: 5/5
Google Play rating: 5/5
One of my favorite games, The Room an escape game that has you solving puzzles spread around in the entire room. The atmosphere is very alluring, you’ll be sitting and picking around at the puzzles for hours before you know it. The puzzles are challenging but not impossible to solve, and you’ll find yourself hooked once you get started.
[btnsx id=”462″]
8) LIMBO
iTunes rating: 4.5/5
Google Play rating: 4.5/5
A side-scrolling classic developed by Playdead, this puzzle-platform video game has a very dark theme yet is eerily beautiful. Death is inevitable in this game, but nothing so much to discourage you from turning away from it. Puzzles are smart and engaging, you won’t want to miss out on this little boy’s nightmarish journey in looking for his lost sister.
[btnsx id=”463″]
9) This War of Mine
iTunes rating: 4.5/5
Google Play rating: 4.5/5
First things first, this is not a game meant for everyone. This War of Mine is a war survival game where you play as civilians, not an élite soldier, where you have to fight, or defend, or steal, or even kill to survive. You won’t feel much “fun” (like, in a “joyful” sense) in playing, but it will leave you in deep thought about the consequences of war. It’s heart-wrenching, and may cause depression, so if you don’t think you can handle it I wouldn’t recommend it to you.
P.S. The developers of the game have partnered with a non-profit organization War Child to help young war victims all over the world. A part of the money you spend to buy the game will be donated to them.

10) Does not Commute
iTunes rating: 4.5/5
Google Play rating: 4/5
One day, a simple little town full of people who wanted (or didn’t want) to go to work were stuck in a horrendous traffic. But you can’t blame anyone, because it was you who caused it… Does not Commute is a strategic driving game where you have to plan out the routes of all the cars in a small town. Timing is extremely important in this game. Watch as cars hilariously hit each other, not because they wanted to, but because you’re bad at driving.

11) Into the Dead
iTunes rating: 4.5/5
Google Play rating: 4.5/5
Into the Dead is an endless zombie runner, where players have to run through a landscape filled with zombies. You control your character to move left or right to dodge zombies or pick up weapons from supply crates as you run past. Get as far as possible without dying, and don’t look back!
[btnsx id=”466″]
12) Minigore 2: Zombies
iTunes rating: 4.5/5
Google Play rating: 4.5/5
Casual zombie shooter game in which you have to survive an endless stream of enemy hordes (as you could tell from the title, they’re mostly zombies). The game design and sound effects are adorable, a great game to pick up to pass time.
[btnsx id=”467″]
13) Dark Echo
iTunes rating: 4.5/5
Google Play rating: 4.5/5
Dark Echo is a minimalist, unique horror puzzle game. In the game you’re technically ‘blind’, but the sounds around you create kind of like a radar vision for you. Lines on the screen will indicate the things around you, and there are creatures in the dark that are set to kill you. How heavy you tap defines how loud your footsteps are, so tread with care! Best experienced with audio.
[btnsx id=”468″]
14) Implosion: Never Lose Hope
iTunes rating: 4.5/5
Google Play rating: 4.5/5
This sci-fi action game is excellently produced and it has exceptionally well-designed combat. Controls are smooth, along with fun customization and complex mechanics, this game ought to satisfy the needs of action mobile game fans.
[btnsx id=”469″]
15) _Prism
iTunes rating: 4.5/5
Google Play rating: 4.5/5
If you’re a fan of the mechanics of The Room, _Prism is a fun puzzle game that may just fit the bill. The levels are well designed with creative effects, but it’s a short game, which is a bit of a let down to those who enjoy it. Controls may be slightly wonky at times but it’s a good game nevertheless.
[btnsx id=”470″]
16) Cube Escape Series
iTunes rating: 4.5~4.8/5
Google Play rating: 4.5~5/5
The Cube Escape series is a mystery point-and click room escape game, and there are now 8 games released in the franchise. It is eccentric and unsettling, but at the same time, all the installments are unique and creative in their own way with puzzles and recurring dark themes. It’s quite challenging, takes a bit of patience to actually get past some levels.
[btnsx id=”471″]
17) Bertram Fiddle: Episode 1
iTunes rating: 4.5/5
Google Play rating: 4.5/5
A point-and-click comedy murder adventure game with superb voice acting and quirky animations, fantastic soundtrack and an interesting story to tell. Solve the mystery behind the murders set in Victorian London, and buckle up as you are about to experience great giggles throughout the game. 18) FRAMED
iTunes rating: 4.5/5
Google Play rating: 4.5/5
Framed is a multi-award winning noir-puzzle game where you drag panels of animated comic books around to change the outcome of the story. Charming gameplay, enjoyable to the last second, which is a shame because you can finish the game
in less than 2 hours.
[btnsx id=”474″]
19) BADLAND
iTunes rating: 4.5/5
Google Play rating: 4.5/5
A charming side-scrolling action adventure game with physics-based gameplay, and it’s simple but addictive. A game that offers plenty of content and hours of fun on your mobile. It’s puzzle messes up your mind once in a while, but it’s enjoyable and lovely nevertheless.
[btnsx id=”475″]
20) Deemo
iTunes rating: 5/5
Google Play rating: 4.5/5
Do you love rhythm games? Do you like a good story line? Deemo offers both at once and is a beautiful experience. It’s mechanics is similar to Cytus, another rhythm game made by the same developers. Filled with a decent variety of piano music with a mix of instrumental and vocal tracks, it’s bound to tug at your heartstrings one way or another.
