2017 has come to an end with a wide array of mobile games that was released and coming soon. Here are a list of top 10 mobile games of 2017 which has dominated the mobile gaming market scene.
Arena of Valor
Arena of Valor is a mobile MOBA that was a hit in China. It was known as Honor of Kings or King of Glory, both by Tencent which was released in the West. Now the game is released in other South East Asia countries like Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines thanks to Garena. Last Day on Earth: Survival
Last Day on Earth: Survival is a mobile survival game that was released back in June. The zombie apocalypse survival game is much alike Durango; instead of dinosaurs, you have to survive against the zombie horde. Players will need to scavenge their way through or pillage other’s homes for resources for your own survival. Check out the article here for more info! Honkai Impact 3
If you love anime girls in combat uniform, then this is the game for you. Honkai Impact 3 was released back in November and it has been a hit amongst players who love the hack-n-slash genre. The mobile RPG displays crisp graphics which can be fine tuned based on your phone’s specs of up to 60fps! Players get to interact with their Valks on their ship and each one of them will give you a special bonus which gives an impact in your gameplay. Monster Hunter Stories
Monster Hunter Stories is a game that was only available for the Nintendo 3DS but due to the growing market of the mobile gaming community, Capcom has ported the game over which features everything of the original. For a mobile version, the game is optimized with HD graphics and UI for easy controls and access on mobile. The game is now available only in Japan and hopefully it will be brought over globally. Glorious Mission
Tencent being the largest influence in China’s game industry is seen releasing tons of games in a year. They have yet released a battle royale mobile game for both iOS and Android users. The game Glorious Mission is just like Knives Out and Rules of Survival by NetEase. However, Glorious Mission can support a 100-player battle royale on a mobile platform. Postknight
Postknight is a proud creation of Malaysia’s mobile games developer Kurechii. The pocket-sized RPG is available for both iOS and Android devices since 9th February 2017. World of Final Fantasy: Meli-Melo
Square Enix has brought us much joy and memories with their Final Fantasy IP. They had even released World of Final Fantasy which was originally for the PS4 onto mobile dubbed, World of Final Fantasy: Meli-Melo. Though the game was based on the PS4 version, the game is made optimized for mobile devices. The game is available in both Japan’s iOS and Android stores. Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed
The Dynasty Warriors series has been around since the PlayStation existed. The IP has been really popular and with the rise of the mobile gaming community, KOEI TECMO developed a mobile version called Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed. The hack-n-slash mobile RPG features all the heroes from the Romance of the 3 Kingdoms of China’s history. Egglia: Legend of the Redcap
One of the most anticipated mobile RPG, Egglia: Legend of the Redcap was launched earlier this year in Japan on the 3rd of August. The turn-based RPG clings on to the classic JRPG style with an in-depth story line. The game also features egg hatching which unlocks new lands to explore further and expanding your adventurous experience. There are tons of things to do in the game and it is worth the price to pay for a paid AAA game. The English version has already been released and it costs RM39.90 now in both the Play Store and the App Store.
Fire Emblem Heroes
The popular series of Fire Emblem Heroes came to mobile app stores for both iOS and Android was launched in February 2017. The strategy RPG for mobile has received commendations and has received the Best of 2017 Award by Google Play in Japan’s Play Time 2017 event. Nintendo has made a great game which includes familiar characters from the Fire Emblem series. There has been tons of updates for the game and more new heroes added in for 2018’s New Year event update as well.
