Tokyo Game Show 2024 (TGS2024) is gearing up to be the biggest iteration in its history, according to a recent press release from the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA). Scheduled to take place from September 26 to 29 at Makuhari Messe, the event is set to host a record-breaking number of exhibitors and booths.
As of September 11, TGS2024 has registered 979 exhibitors, with 450 from Japan and 529 from overseas. The physical venue will feature an unprecedented 3,252 exhibition booths, surpassing last year’s figures. The event will showcase a diverse range of gaming content, including new releases, e-sports titles, AR/VR games, and blockchain games across various platforms such as consoles, smartphones, and PCs.
Organizers have split the four-day event into two Business Days (September 26-27) and two Public Days (September 28-29). For overseas visitors, general admission tickets for the Public Days are now on sale through the official TGS2024 English website.
TGS2024 is embracing a hybrid format, offering both in-person and online experiences. The event will feature 13 stage programs and 21 official streaming programs, with many offering simultaneous English interpretation for international viewers. In addition, the organizers will stream a special preview program on September 18, featuring TGS2024 Official Supporter Daichi Miura, to provide an overview of the event’s offerings.
In a nod to the indie game scene, TGS2024 will continue its “Selected Indie 80” project, providing free exhibition space to 81 selected indie game developers from a pool of 973 entries. A special online program introducing these titles is already streaming.
Furthermore, the organizers expect around 250,000 visitors for this year’s event, which promises to offer a comprehensive look at the latest developments in the ever-growing game industry.
