Aquaplus has announced a remake of the iconic visual novel ToHeart, set to launch in Spring 2025 for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam in Japan. Originally released in 1997, ToHeart quickly became a fan favorite with its heartwarming high school romance story, which has since expanded into multiple adaptations, including anime series and a sequel. The upcoming remake promises to bring this beloved title to a new generation, with modernized visuals that feature the game’s characters rendered in full 3D, offering an immersive experience that enhances the original’s charm.
Exciting updates accompany the remake, including a fresh cast for two key roles. Kana Ichinose will lend her voice to Akari Kamigishi, while Hina Yomiya will voice the character Multi. However, fans of the original will be pleased to know that they can switch back to the classic voice cast for a nostalgic experience. The iconic opening theme, “Feeling Heart,” which was introduced in the 1999 PlayStation release, will also make a return, now sung by YURiKA, offering a modern twist on the nostalgic track originally sung by Masami Nakatsukasa.
The game will be available both physically and digitally for Nintendo Switch in Japan, with a special limited edition version also in the works. ToHeart remains one of AquaPlus’ flagship titles, and this remake gives fans the perfect opportunity to experience this charming romance adventure again.
