Game developer Respawn has just announced that it will be ending the service for Titanfall: Assault, its free-to-play mobile game based on the Titanfall series and has issued the following statement via its social media platforms:
Commanders: When we set out to create Titanfall: Assault we were excited by the possibilities of translating the fast and competitive action from the Titanfall console series onto mobile devices in a new and unique way. Titanfall: Assault players have played countless PvP matches across the Frontier since we launched last year. We’ve received a tremendous amount of player feedback from our fans and have been closely evaluating how people are playing the game. Unfortunately, our experiment in bringing Titanfall to mobile devices as a competitive RTS experience did not translate as we had hoped. It is with heavy heart that we will be concluding service for Titanfall: Assault on July 30th. Until this date, we’ll be turning of in-app purchases and hope you’ll enjoy competing with one another up until then. Thank you all for your passion and commitment!
Not like it would matter anymore, but the game was described as a “fast and fluid real-time PvP mobile strategy game”, where you will build decks from of Pilots, Titans and Burn Cards thus deploying them to attack or defense. Similar to Clash Royale’s elixir system, you will need supply to deploy troops. To achieve victory, you have to capture and control as many hardpoints as possible (3 maximum) or destroy the opponent’s Heavy Turrets to win instantly. In case you still want to try the game out, you have until the end of the month to do so.
