Netflix has announced the release date for Tiger & Bunny Season 2, along with a short peek at the follow up to the cult classic superhero anime.
According to the new PV, Season 2 of Tiger & Bunny is simply titled Tiger & Bunny 2, with an April 8th release date on Netflix.
Similar to Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6, it looks like Netflix will be releasing 13 episodes for the series at once, unlike the regular weekly format. It’s not currently known if Season 2 will only be 13 episodes though, or if a second part would be coming at a later date.
The PV also gives us a peek at the OP for Season 2, titled Kaleido Proud Fiesta by Unison Square Garden. The band had also done the previous opening for the series.
It looks as though the series is giving in to a lot more modern superhero tropes, with the disappearing visors on Kotetsu and Barnaby’s hero suits and a very Tokusatsu-esque wrist device.
Tiger & Bunny is a superhero anime released before the big superhero renaissance, focusing on a world where people with powers, called NEXT, regularly live in society.
The series follows Kotetsu and Barnaby- two full-time superheroes, as they compete for points in the reality TV show Hero TV as the show’s only paired heroes, due to their similar powers.
