The Shin Ultraman figure from threeZero is now available for preorder, and gives us a closer look at the design for Hideaki Anno’s take on Ultraman ahead of its cinematic debut.
It’s available for preorder now via the Good Smile website, where it’ll cost you 6,710 Yen (RM250.33). The figure is set for a December 2021 release., and preorders will run until August 25th.
The Shin Ultraman figure stands at 6 inches tall, and features a metallic finish, having the same shine that you might have seen during the teaser trailer for the movie back when it was announced.
The figure includes several alternate hands for Ultraman, including the open hand shape to do his iconic beam pose.
Shin Ultraman
Shin Ultraman is the reimagining of Ultraman by Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno. While not connected in-universe, it follows the same stylings as Anno’s reimagining of Shin Godzilla, and the more recently announced Shin Kamen Rider, which all feature iconice Japanese characters.
While the movie was originally slated for a summer 2021 release date, the movie had to be delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Considering Anno has already announced his next project, it stands to reason that Shin Ultraman is actually pretty far along in production, limited only by the ongoing pandemic.
