To celebrate the first anniversary of Elden Ring, Bandai Namco Entertainment published some interesting statistics for the game- including the overwhelming number of total deaths.
According to Bandai Namco Entertainment, there have been over 9 billion deaths in Elden Ring so far- meaning there’s been more Elden Ring deaths than there are people on the planet right now (8 billion).
Not content to just say *something* killed you, they even helped break down the game’s bosses- Malenia, a totally optional boss, sits at the top of the leaderboard with 329 million attempts to make her know defeat.
The other leaders are all strewn about either extreme of the game- in 2nd place is Margit The Fell Omen with 281 million, while following him up is the Limgrave Tree Sentinel at 277 million and Radagon at 148 million.
To no one’s surprise, Starscourge Radahn comes in at 5th with 139 million, despite technically being an optional boss.
These kind of fun stats are a great way to celebrate Elden Ring’s first anniversary- the game broke into the mainstream like no Souls game had before, outselling the entire Souls series combined within its first month.
The game also stacked up awards, winning Game of The Year at last year’s Game Awards as well as Best Art Direction, Best RPG and Best Game Direction.
