Square Enix uploaded a new trailer for The World Ends With You anime on their YouTube channel, teasing its release date of 9th April 2021.
The trailer stretches for almost a minute, featuring “TEENAGE CITY RIOT” performed by ALI featuring rapper R-Designated of Creepy Nuts. The rap version of this song will also be the opening theme for the anime. You can watch the The World Ends With You: The Animation promotional video here:
To celebrate its April release, The World Ends With You anime will have an online event in March. This online event will feature a preview of the first episode and scenes that were cut from the official release. The World Ends With You: The Animation website will reveal more details about this event in late February.
The World Ends With You: The Animation is a joint production between domerica and Shin-Ei Animation. The former is making the Seven Knights movie which also airs in spring. As for the latter, Shin-Ei Animation is noteworthy for their work on both seasons 1 and 2 of Skilled Teaser Takagi-san.
In addition, The World Ends With You franchise does not just end with an anime adaptation. A new title in the franchise, NEO: The World Ends With You, will release later this year on Switch and PS4. Read more about it in our previous article.
