Stray Fawn Studio’s The Wandering Village finally has a release date and it is set to release into Steam Early Access on September 14th for PC, Mac and Linux for $24.99.
The Wandering Village is a unique city builder taking place on top of the giant creature named Onbu. The game will have you manage between building your city in a rogue-like manner mixed with survival elements.
You’ll need to farm various crops to feed your villagers, send out foraging missions in hopes of getting rare resources, research and construct different buildings for your village to prosper.
All of that while you need to survive from things like merciless weathers, bloodsucking parasites and not to mention, your resources are limited from the get-go. That is just how life is when on top of a beast.
Not to mention you will also need to build a proper relationship with the giant beast to actually have an influence in its actions. Oh, do you need to forge one with the villagers too? Why yes you do and sometimes both the villagers and the beast’s interest do not align. So, it is your job to properly manage them.
Bear in mind that the beast is alive with a unique body so sometimes it could cause problems for the village. Growing spikes where a tool should be at or even causing the crops planted on it to wither is just one of many.
The Wandering Villager has gameplay inspired from ecology and biology presented in a unique art style that meshes 3D and hand-drawn, hand animated 2D graphics.
Inspired by Hayao Miyazaki’s Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, The Wandering Village is a city builder game by Stray Fawn Studio set to release on Steam Early Access on September 14th for PC, Max and Linus.
